Texas is best when it comes to Quarter Horse racing, and TQHA leads the way with innovative and lucrative programs!
The TQHA has a longstanding and successful racing program. The state is home to one of the industry’s richest races, the $1,000,000 Texas Classic Futurity [G1], as well as many other respected stakes races. Our state offers ATB awards annually.
Texas is home to one of the richest Quarter Horse races in the world, the Texas Classic Futurity. Other race programs include the Texas Classic Derby, Sires Cup, Sale Futurity and the Texas “Summer Showdown,” a series of races restricted to Accredited Texas-Bred horses.

*Owner(s) must be a current member of the Texas Quarter Horse Association, as the owners are stated on the horse’s AQHA papers including partnerships at the time of nomination and at time of race events. Enclose $30 Individual or $40 Joint membership with payment if necessary.
Millions of dollars in bonus awards have been distributed by TQHA through the Accredited Texas-Bred Program. Administered by TQHA through the Texas Racing Act, the Accredited Texas-Bred Program provides purse supplements in the form of cash awards to owners, breeders and stallion owners for each Accredited Texas-Bred Quarter Horse finishing first, second, or third in a Texas pari-mutuel race.
An individual is not required to be a TQHA member to receive Accredited Texas-Bred Incentive Awards. However, you must be a current-year member, as the owners are stated on the horse’s AQHA papers including partnerships, to be eligible for TQHA Year-End Awards.
TQHA members receive discounts on ATB fees.
Approximately $1 million is distributed yearly through the Accredited Texas Bred Awards Program. According to the Texas Racing Act, on every racing day, an association (track) shall provide for the running of at least two races limited to Accredited Texas-Bred horses, one of which shall be restricted to maidens.

All Accredited Texas-Bred Quarter Horses that finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in a race* in Texas are eligible to receive Owner, Breeder & Stallion Owner Awards.
*Stakes races restricted to accredited TX-Breds not included)
Accredited Texas-Bred Quarter Horses are eligible for more races in Texas, giving you more opportunities to visit the winner’s circle.
All Accredited Texas-Bred Quarter Horse Yearlings are eligible for consignment to the TQHA Yearling Sale, which is held in San Antonio, TX the last weekend of July.
All Accredited Texas-Bred Quarter Horse Yearlings that are sold at the TQHA Yearling Sale are eligible to enter the TQHA Yearling Sale Futurity.
TQHA Members’ Accredited Texas-Bred Quarter Horses are eligible for year-end awards, presented annually during the TQHA Awards Banquet.

2025 TQHA RACE STALLION SERVICE AUCTION
TQHA’s Annual Stallion Service Auction offers discount breeding’s to many of the nation’s top stallions. Offspring of participating stallions are eligible for the Sires’ Cup races, while the stallion donor receives a free nomination to the Sires’ Cup Futurity & Derby plus Stallion Awards!
